Worry not - we can/will stay up this season

Post by beaglebum » Fri Mar 15, 2019 6:56 pm

In short, i know it's a negative approach but all we have to do is match or better Rotherham's results and we will be fine. Or Reading, Wigan or Millwalls. I'm assuming the gap between Ipswich and Bolton is too great for them to catch us. I know it's easier said than done, bur here's are comparative run-ins:-

Rother QPR
Nor H Hull A - can see us both losing
Derby A Bolton H - potentially we should better their result
Forest H Norwich A - They may pick up points here whereas we wont
Villa H Mill A - can see us both drawing or losing
Stoke A Swan H - potentially we should better their result
Swan A Black H - potentially we should better their result
Bir H Derby A - can see us both losing/drawing
WBA A Forest H - potentially we should better their result
Midd H SWeds A - can see us both losing (depends on whether the result matters though)

I know the championship is hard to predict but although for us 7pts is a tiny safety net, to those below us it is huge. Rotherham are averaging 0.97pts per game (as are Wigan, Reading and Millwall) so if they continue that form they will finish on 45/46 pts. Surely we can't be that bad to not get 3 or 4 more points?????

We never win at Hull but we never win at Forest or in the 3rd round of the FA Cup either. So here's to the first 3pts tomorrow :)

"Potentially we should better their result"

They just beat us at our place. What makes you think we will better their results?

Rotherham have some tough fixtures but even rock bottom Ipswich got points at WBA and Bristol, so anything can happen. As for us I wouldn't bet on us beating the Ludlow and District Long John Silver Impersonators XI at the moment.

The clue is in the word Potentially!

Good news is we bettered their result today so 8 pts clear and one less game for them to make up the points. U R'sssss
