Blue Peter at QPR- 1974!

Post by Wegerle » Fri Mar 15, 2019 12:17 pm

An absolutely smashing clip of Blue Peter visiting Loftus Road in 1974. Just look at the stadium and John Noakes climbing up ourfloodlights, brilliant nostalgia!
Watch the team run out against Burnley at the end. Phil Parkes is easy to spot!

Thanks Wegs!

A few observations.

Noakesy says Stripes!!

Health and Safety, obviously.

The outside of the ground really hasn't changed in 45 years. Quite depressing really, lol.

Thank you. I enjoyed that. I should have enjoyed it even more had it not made me feel giddy.
It's simple. Score more goals than they do.

Other observations - seems the club at that point had it's house in very good order.
Portable generator, the team coming out properly dressed in tracksuits,
2-1 victory; who could ask for more :)

John Noakes was 80ft up a ladder changing a bulb, I bet Peter Purves was out taking Petra (the dog) for a walk.

Thanks Wegs. Remember that when it was on. I preferred the Loft like that. He had some balls, did old Noakesie.

you wouldn't have wanted a gust of wind when you were up there.

Love the way the old boy just says yeah go on up and change the bulb. Pitch was in a bit of a state though :)
