Aside from the technical infringement, it's got to put the taker off, hasn't it? Poor reffing.

It also took ages before the referee let Wells take the penalty.

And Gardner all up in his grill chatting shit at him should have been dealt with too.

It was a poor penalty, as soon as I saw him shimmy in the run up I feared the worst. Pick your spot and put your laces through the ball...

Wonder if the football authorities have a ready made excuse for the referee. Just looked at the laws of the game for penalties.

See the summary on encroachment by an attacking player. If you look at the picture a QPR player is just in the penalty area befor the kick is taken.

Yes, I noticed that but surely that player entered the box long after the bluenoses? He's way behind.

Reminded me of the penalty at Reading last season when those fake hooped twats used all the shithousery in the book to delay and disrupt before Bidwell missed.

Our player was the fourth into the box from looking at the photo: if we'd known the feckin ref wasn't bothered about encroachment it's a real pity he wasn't first in there.

Would seem common sense that we would not be penalised as the encroachment by the Birmingham players happened first but the FA will clutch at any straws to support the referee.

We should have had more than one penalty anyway. I prefer penalty takers to give the ball a hefty wallop rather than what we saw today. I sometimes think there's an FA directive no to award a penalty for fouls on Smith.

Looks like they think because he is big he can't be fouled. Quite dreadful refereeing today. Matt was superb but didn't get the rub of the green.

What’s worse is that the referee is looking directly at them all. He was absolutely dire all afternoon.
