Well done to Matt Smith today, effort was top class. Battered and bruised but two goals to his name.
Just don’t get why Wells took the penalty. Done nothing all game other than miss from 3 yards earlier on!

Can take a lot from that second half and should have got an unlikely point. But the SMc and the players have to seriously look at what happened in the first. We are always chasing games, and need to get our noses in front more often.
100% agree. We can give any team in this division a game but not when constantly have to climb uphill every game. 4-0 down at home in the first hlf is inexcusable.

So Wells misses from 3 yards then misses a penalty. Not his day
Despite his goals Matt missed a ton of chances
They weren’t really chances though were they? Literally only efforts on goal because of his size. There was any clear cut chances for him where he should have scored.

Sounds like he should have had a hat-trick. Was involved in everything though, and took a few knocks. Shame Oteh wasn't on the pitch to take the pen. SMc needs to up his pre - match...as we are losing games before we get going.

A bit ironic Lee Camp won the game for them in the second half.

Is it just me, or is he a bit over-rated? I know "beggars can"t be choosers" and all that - but I'm not entirely convinced by him. Maybe he needs Hamed uptop with him. No more pens though for him.

Just seen Brum's encroachment on the pen - the officials cost us another chance at snatching a point. Would Wells have taken the retake?

I think Wells has been disappointing really, he's one up from conor but still shocked he's the penalty taker. Bidwell or freeman surely more dependable?

Wow that is staggering. Brum players virtually alongside Wells when he kicks the ball!

4 Brum players encroached by a yard or two for the pen.

I understand that this is a ‘technical’ breach that rarely gets called - but that ref forced goalie free kicks to be retaken from the ‘correct spot’ three times in the second half.

Why strictly enforce one rule which has zero impact on play and let another breeze past?

Any road - great reaction in the second half. Toni was immense.

Absolutely right. I wasn't having a dig mind. I thought Matt had a great game but could have had 5. If we could just start every game the same way we started the second half today we'll be going up.

I don’t know why Leistner didn’t start but he made all the difference in the second half. So did Cousins, far more effective than Scowen. They were bullying us. We miss Cameron. Scowen runs around like a terrier but lacks awareness.

Well where to start? The effort and performance from the whole team for the first half was a disgrace: Che Adams was Premiership class but the rest of their team was bang average IMO.

2nd half we obviously had to go for it and we were all over them: we could have scored 7 or 8 with Mat Smith putting in a dominant performance. Either him or Freeman should've taken the penalty as they were the form players of the half.

Cousins did well when he came on but some of our players were poor throughout: I thought Lumley, Furlong, Hall, Lynch, Luongo and Scowen were way down on performance today.

Leistner might not be the quickest defender but he provides leadership and organisation at the back which was totally lacking in the first half.

The second half was very exciting but no team can give four goals away like we did and expect to get anything from the game. We rarely start on the front foot and today we were totally punished.

I agree with you, pretty much as always, white duck.

The problem is how to start games. We can't necessarily go all guns blazing otherwise teams are going to park the bus and hit us on the counter attack. We somehow need to exert more physicality on proceedings from the start and press more physically and technically like Preston and Birmingham, and other teams like Bristol city.

I think we are paying the price for being a small technical team in the first half hour . We somehow need to be big and retentive during the first half hour and then revert to being more full on and attacking in the second half.
Come on you Sooopa ........
