I don't imagine we'd get a transfer fee for him but it's one more off the wage bill. He was a misfit here really.

Nowhere near the first team picture so it's the right move for him and us.

Scored a decent number of goals for us but never really looked convincing: the fact he was behind Washington in the pecking order for most of his time with us says it all.....

If sylla had Washington's work rate then we would have had a decent striker like Wells .

Sylla was one of our highest earners according to some reports.

How, I mean just what pedigree does he come with to justify making that (? high ) kind of offer ?

I always felt like, if he was working for me 30 years ago I'd have kicked him up the Arse to put a full shift in. Sadly can't do that now, bring back hanging etc

I wonder if we're paying up his contract....

No real savings then, so no replacement....

Free transfer I think.

We move on and hopefully sign a decent midfielder in replacement until the end of the season.

We do have so many players out of contract at the end of this season though.

Furlong has already signed a new contract to 2021.

Free transfer?

Doesn't mean a lot unless his new club is picking up his wages for the rest of this season...

Very few footballers are willing to rip their contract up....

I think only two in recent years that did that favour for QPR were Cesar and Tarrabt for true footballing reasons..... It didn't turn out well for either!

None of us is privy to the negotiations that go on behind the scenes. If a club coming in for a player is really keen they may offer various blandishments. In the case of Sylla, I guess we're just glad to get him off the books. Nothing against him really, but neither Holloway nor McClaren seemed to think he was the kipper's knickers. Another wage saved.

I always liked Sylla more than most and thought we should have been working to get the best out of him as he had an ok eye for goal and could play with his back to it, i also didn't think he was as lazy on the pitch as many did. However, now two managers haven't fancied him but his old club want him back. It's all very strange, i wonder if he just couldn't settle.

That list of nine players a few posts back seemed quite definite?? or is it all smoke and mirrors?
