Villa match thread and predictions

Post by White Duck » Tue Jan 01, 2019 10:23 am

I would like to see Manning in to replace Cousins, and Eze rested with Freeman moving inside and BOS coming in to give us some pace on the break. Or Chair as a straight swap. But I expect an unchanged line up.

Hoping for the best but predicting a 2-0 defeat for this one as the minutes played by the first choice 11 and the lack of substitutions catches up with us.

Nil Desperandum. Villa have quite a few men out injured and results don't always go as expected this time of the year. I think we'll hold on for a 1-1 draw with our goal coming from a Lynch header.

Heart says a draw but head says a loss. Whichever way it goes I think it will be close, but it would be a welcome point in this toughest of months if we can get it.

2-2 I reckon. Freeman & Pawel. Manning to play a part.

0-2. We are in in a rich vein of form; scoring goals and rarely conceding.
Keep an open mind, but not so open that your brain falls out.

Hmm....he's picked an unchanged team with Cardinal Manning on the bench. The team looked knackered a few days ago, I change my prediction to 2-0 to Aston Villa.

Surprised and disappointed to see no changes today. I don’t think this format/midfield is strong enough.

I can understand keeping Eze in there - he can hold the ball up well if on form.

I just hope we don’t look tired and start slow ...

Started well but being penned back in our area a lot now. Need to ride this out and hit them on the counter where possible.

Very poor defending. Look knackered already, ball not sticking :(

Invited them to attack for too long and they took full advantage :( hopefully we can find some energy and attacking intent

What a classy player Freeman is: involved in everything we do and always looking for the ball.
