Model professional XI

Post by old pauline » Tue Nov 20, 2018 10:31 pm

The Angel Rangel thread got me thinking about this (though I couldn't decide upon a second centre back):

Alex Smithies
Angel Rangel
Clint Hill
Shaun Derry
Paul Parker
Gareth Ainsworth
Ray Wilkins
Andy Sinton
Les Ferdinand
Paul Furlong
Trevor Francis

I'm sure I must have missed someone who played for us until the age of 40 without picking up a single card ...
Come on you Sooopa ........

All late 80s onwards so surely Alan McDonald at centre back?

Derry & Hill were behind most of the dressing room unrest in our first season back in the Premiership. (allegedly ;-) )

If new employees came into my (previously successful and happy) workplace, earning several times as much, but clearly not pulling their weight, I don't think I'd consider myself to be fomenting unrest if I took issue with them.

I'm pretty sure Dunne was a smoker too.

Derry can't be included because of the sending off at OT when he committed one of the most savage and unmitigated crimes in the history of world soccer by fouling the stellar and highly respected Ashley Dung.

Right that settles it. Get Leistner and Lynch a pack and let them bloody get on with the clean sheets.
