Ryan Manning

Post by UxbridgeR » Tue Nov 06, 2018 5:24 pm

Ryan Manning has been called up to the senior Ireland squad for the first time. Congratulations to him.

Whatever you think of the decision to send him out on loan, it's worked out well for him personally.

Hopefully we shall reap the benefits next season onwards, looking forward to seeing that as it will be like a new signing.

No point making a big thing about his loan move as I still think his game time with us would have been limited.

Yep, agree with that. He has thrived in a team by playing regularly and that can only be good for us in the future.

Hopefully, this will all turn out to the good. We have a lot of promising midfielders although, I gather, mostly on short contracts.

I was thinking today that Chair needs a loan as it doesn't seem he's going to get much game time with us. But he did go out it would be prudent to bring Manning back in January as we'll need to draw on the squad more as the season progresses.

You put your ChairMann ing, your Chairman out . . .

See what I sort of did there? Because, you know, Tony left, and Amit came in, and we've got two players whose names almost make the word 'Chairman', and ...

I'll see myself out.

After a fast start, I've noticed Manning has been mainly coming off the bench for Rotherham. He's not been an automatic starter. Reminds me a bit of Goss at Rangers last season.

He also seems to be the main penalty taker for Rotherham too, notching up
quite a few goals in the process - definitely want him back @ HQ

Yep see some Rotherham fans on Twitter saying that if he comes back to us in Jan it won’t be a massive loss as he doesn’t start for them. I thought he was a regular before reading that.

Seems to be liked by their fans but wouldn’t say he is setting the world alight with them as he can’t actually get in their side!
