Don Shanks

Will he be back in the UK on Saturday, and if so, will he be guest of honour at the game?
Saturday 9th November 1968: QPR V Burnley in the First Division - I saw the Hoops for the first time and my obsession began!

He'll be in a pub in Manchester blowing the funds with Stan; you know Stan and money

If he is back, he should definitely be the guest of honour.

He put in a great time. 4.11.33. From my understanding of these things, the Boston Marathon qualify times are considered the benchmark for an excellent time and for his age that's 4.10. I was lucky enough to meet him the day before, an absolute gent.

Just over £9K so far.

I think it was over optimistic hoping for, what was it, 50k ? I thought it would be a lot more than 9k though. That said, many have already contributed in other ways. I would hope that footballers with their eyewatering wages would stump up a few quid.
