Post by Giorgio » Tue Oct 02, 2018 7:41 pm

Worst attack: 7 goals only in 11 matches :( :( :(
Second worst defense: 18 goals conceded, only Preston is doing worse with 23.

Hope we can improve these numbers.

(A lack of humour tends to pervade this forum at times, second time today have had to explain a comment was a joke)

I think the goals against column is distorted by the WBA game, and by the first four games in general.

We've only conceded 5 in the last 7 league games, starting from the point the loan signings came in. I'd say generally speaking, we've looked more solid since then.

The lack of goals for is more of a worry for me, but hopefully we can get Wells and / or Hemed firing soon.

Only my opinion but I think Wells is struggling because he hasn't played any competitive football for a year and is going to take a bit of time before he hits his stride. If the fans can stay off his back for a month or two we could have a goldmine by January. I am obviously hoping it will be before that but I am trying to curb myself.

Agree.

He needs a goal as he’s starting to snatch at his chances, but he’s a quality player. His pace and intelligence upfront opens up so much space for the likes of Freeman & Eze to exploit.

He’ll only get better.
