It's a little bit like that now with all the extras clubs put on to attract a crowd to a game
What "extras"? - they even got rid of "round the pole" featuring tubby drunks (now that's entertainment!)
All the family stuff before the game at the 5 a side pitches on SAR. Players in the shop. Stadium tours. All that sort of thing.

Yep, round the pole was great half time entertainment.

Is this going to be the new club fixture norm; two weeks without a match then ten days crammed with four of them? If so it's yet another change that gives no consideration to the fans.

How long before we have televised games with CGI crowds because fans have given up going?
Or, the fans are paid to go to the match and support the team(s)? Rather like extras in a film?
It's a little bit like that now with all the extras clubs put on to attract a crowd to a game. I wonder what people would have made of going to football back in the day when would stood on terraces, often getting rained on, and only had football to entertain.

Mind you, due to the leaky roof in HU, I still get rained on today!
Standing on the terraces with only football to entertain would suit me ! Whomsoever chooses the music to blast at us seems to be on a mission to find the worst stuff available.

...just an observation but it's very quiet here, thought it would be buzzing with prediction and speculation considering the games coming up! :?
Why not just speak for yourself? What are your buzzy predictions and fun speculations?
Read through this thread and you will see that I have!
Now put me back on ignore please!
So you did - mea culpa!

PS I asked the dot.org to filter you out weeks ago - it did, then it didn't!

We owe Millwall, and have done for ages. The Yellow ones are always nice to beat. Probably four points from the two games, and goals for Wells and Hamed(among others)... will do me.

I remember the days of watching reserve matches at LR before the main fare, getting player autographs, and buying chips afterwards from the chippie next to the Springbok. That was back when we had a gorgeously collectable programme with real writing from Ron Phillips and Michael Wale, a three tiered playing staff with Allen and Goddard scoring for fun in the South East Counties League (finally disbanded in the late 1990s), a proper terraced Loft/away end, FA Cup/League Cup games that mattered, and genuine football atmosphere/animosity.

Thank the footballing gods those days are over, eh?

Halcyon days.....the chippie, the last time I looked was a Jamaican takeaway and the Springbok is now the Queen's Tavern. I don't buy a programme ( sorry, matchday magazine ) these days. Much better to get A Kick Up The Rs from Dave outside the ground.
