Conor Washington

Conor Washington contract terminated By mutual consent. I do think he is a good player just some clubs don’t work for certain styles. Wish him well for the future

As a footballer?

That's generous! Exactly how did we as a club fail Mr Washington as a footballer? I'd say he was given many opportunities to hoist himself by his own petard. He could have played another 100 games for us, and I doubt whether he'd have got in double figures as a goalscorer.

He seems to do well for NI and they rate him.
But had nothing more than a purple patch at Posh just before we sold Austin. We panicked & overpaid for him.

Good luck to him, the quality wasn’t there but he always seemed to try his best and didn’t shirk.

Just not up to it in most games he's played for us, and he's certainly had enough chances in the team but has never looked convincing. I felt in the second half against Bristol Rovers he was hiding and avoiding the ball but to be fair he never seemed to be in the right place most of the time so who knows?

For a long period i felt that Washington at least worked hard and actually did quite a good job on the left even though he wasn't scoring. I have to agree though, since the latter part of last season he has gone missing more than he's shown up which was in marked contrast to the young players that came in.

A shame we couldn't get anything for him or even out on loan with a chance to come good. Hopefully, we've not had to pay a huge amount to cancel the contract.

Quite surprised by this - struggled at QPR, but I would have thought he still had some value.

They have done a reasonable job with Leon Clarke who also had a hard time scoring at Loftus Road.

Didn't see that coming at all. Good luck to him, he always tried hard - not something you could say about every QPR player.

Good luck to him and quite probably the right thing for him to do. Tried hard every time he was given the nod and I actually think he was fouled quite badly on Tuesday when on the verge of going through on goal. I do think he would benefit from dropping down a division and finding his scoring touch again. His miss against Bristol City early in the game was symptomatic of his time at QPR.
Come on you Sooopa ........
