Good signing. Get your boot polish kit out Conor.

Should be a great signing: Brighton fans rate him as he did a very good job in the Championship for them and started scoring a few for them in the Premier until he got banned for a stamp on an opponent and didn't really get back in to the team. Big step up in class over the forwards we currently have who SMc hasn't got anything out of so far.

Wells too?
If both of them join us, do we expect to see one or more of Smith, Sylla and Washington go out on loan?
It's simple. Score more goals than they do.

Well that is some great news. Add in Wells and a centre half and we should be competitive. Maybe its not all doom and gloom afterall!

Should a new signing go straight into the starting XI ? A question that has vexed all the great managers - Shankly, Ferguson, McClaren........

Reminds me of when Cloughie was asked that question about the first £1m player Trevor Francis signing for Forest, to paraphrase, "I'll play him when i'm ready young man" ….something like that! :)

In the case of Hemed, i'd say yes. He's not interrupting anyone's goal-scoring run and assuming he's got the back to goal game we need, he'll be an asset taking the pressure off the defence.

I'd expect a change to 352/532. Hemed and Wells are not coming to sit on the bench.

I flipping hope not. I agree there's likely to be a change of shape to accommodate both but we know how badly wingbacks work for this club all too well and that was when we actually had CBs like Onuoha and Robinson who were suited to covering at fullback. It would be utter suicide to attempt that with the current players available.

If it was played in a more 532 and we changed to a counter attacking plan it could stem the goals conceded. Maybe 433 could work but we do need Hall to return and and new centre back in on loan.

I thought Hemed was best striker in Championship couple of years back, if he can recapture that form, we could have a really handy player here.
