Well, that coming off the back of TF saying his time as chairman is coming to an end should get social media churning. Never a dull moment, eh ?

Time to get involved and help the club... If anything the last few weeks has taught us it’s that this needs to happen.
Any fans wanting to join the campaign for a new stadium should email SecureRFuture@qpr.co.uk for more information on how to get involved.

Question: where does a club like ours get money for a new stadium from? Obviously selling the land of Loftus Road makes a bit but where does the rest come from? It can't be cheap.

Depends whether it is a serious business propostion, or not.luke_mullet wrote: ↑Fri Aug 10, 2018 11:45 amQuestion: where does a club like ours get money for a new stadium from? Obviously selling the land of Loftus Road makes a bit but where does the rest come from? It can't be cheap.
I imagine that the building of Arsenal's stadium (£390 million) was. But, it does not always bring delight to fans when a club is run prudently.
Old Oak Common, with the various different parts of the development, must have been a good proposition, or our shareholders would not have been so keen .
Not sure about the LC Stadium.
It's simple. Score more goals than they do.

The board can spend all they like on a stadium or Training ground without affecting the FFP regulations. The non football related income stream is what will help pay towards the costs and provide the cash to underpin the football team. A sponsorship deal which is deemed to be of a fair market value will also go a long way towards offsetting costs. I hope this is a nice bit of PR to help strengthen our proposal to the council and other interested parties rather than a panic measure to compete with the concert venue being considered by H&F for the LC site.

Re: From offish - why we need a new stadium
Without a serious commercial use on there (hotel, shopping or housing) I doubt a stadium with associated conference/community/leisure facilities would make money. I'd be surprised of the club could make the LC site stack up as I couldn't see any significant lump of commercial development really taking off there.
I think the Mayor/Old Oak Common quango have been very very shortsighted in not insisting upon a stadium in the Old Oak Common redevelopment but what can the club do about that ? As Tony says, they are tied by the Authorities.

Westgate kind of kills the shopping but there isn’t a decent hotel in the immediate locale and transport links are excellent for a commercial venture.

Part of the Scrubs, the bit that runs alongside Scrubs Lane, has been turned into a nature reserve. I wonder if there may be objections raised because of this.

Only if QPR are successful in a bid to build a stadium there. Who runs the nature reserve? The Sultan of Brunei and some Bees fans?

The nature reserve could provide an interesting and informative diversion for the Millwall fans when they visit......” 'ere Jason, that's a viviparous smooth lizard over there, and a common pipistrelle “Esox Lucius wrote: ↑Fri Aug 10, 2018 4:24 pmOnly if QPR are successful in a bid to build a stadium there.
