Linford Christie stadium

Post by dm » Mon Aug 06, 2018 12:55 pm

Just picked this up from LFW: https://www.standard.co.uk/go/london/at ... 04306.html

I appreciate it's difficult to find land in London for any building project, let alone a football stadium. However, our board seem peculiarly inept at getting business done on the stadium and the training centre.

Yep, I am sure the fans would do a much better job, and a lot faster... look at all the different skill sets spread among the fans.

The important line in there is: The council is continuing to talk to QPR as part of the process.

These things can take time, but importantly we are still in negotiations.

Is this the one game argument or the full 46 for the season?

Titter ye not........those of us “of a certain age” remember when some people wanted the Searchlight Tattoo stopped at the White City Stadium because the noise might cause stress to patients in Hammersmith hospital. I think if I were ill in hospital that sort of thing would be the least of my worries.
In fact, my most stressful experience in hospital was whether the Tories would close the hospital before my procedure.

I was 9 and undergoing major heart surgery in Hammersmith Hospital in 1969. I could see the floodlights for the evening games, but never heard any noise. That was our first season ever in the "big league" and I think I missed all of our 3 wins through illness. You'd have thought it might have put me off :D

This.

It looks like they’re going to have to do something with the Linford Christie stadium. It’s natural that there are a number of interested parties - as long as we’re one of them then that’s all that can be expected.
