I'd take something like that, but would Tony et al?
Why would you? No progress on previous season - what would have been the point of firing Ollie and Birch?
As a minimum. Anything better a bonus. Didn’t see the point of firing those two anyway 🙄

TBF Bircham wasn't fired, he was offered a job similar to what he was already doing with the team but he felt he wanted more, which is his prerogative.
It's not the despair that will kill you, it's the hope.

...I am just wondering.....back to the 2011 season, the season when we stormed the league....under Neil W.
we came from avoiding relegation and then we finished top...similar to Cardiff last season....without splashing money...
just convincing Mr. Adel to be a football player...
and I am thinking..
back then would have any QPR fan - even the most faithful and loyal - expected that to happen...??

so..I guess that there is always a hope to get a good season... :D :D

Just about enough to avoid constructive dismissal?

Because we might potentially have a weaker side so it would still be a greater achievement
Because Holloway and Bircham might take the club backwards
Because we might be better positioned in a season or two's time.

Plenty of reasons to fire them, also plenty of reasons why it might not work out, i understand the tepid reception for McClaren but i'm still surprised how many people really rated the job Holloway was doing. Let's hope for the clubs sake it was the right decision, although it feels like a lot of 'supporters' are hoping to see us fail to at least feel vindicated or even see the club punished for removing Holloway.

Tbf, we'd already spent quite a lot of money previously, we were also able to bring in some fairly high profile loan players. Warnock was also able to bring Kenny, Derry and Hill which gave the team the backbone it needed. Then there was Adel, who was a game changer, it's not just a case of convincing someone. I'm not trying to diminish what Warnock did but he was in a far better position than SMC is now. I think most fans felt like we were in with a decent shot (albeit with the necessary caution that comes from supporting QPR) that season. I think we were pretty short odds.
