Coudnt we have got there winger in as part of the deal, short stocky fella Junior something..?

On a more serious note they have some big talent that couldn’t get a game last season surely we can do a deal in part x plus cash.

Lee Tomlin
Omar Bogle
Danny Ward

Being of real interest.

Already on various SM feeds so much hatred for Evil Les, Hoos & Uncle Tony. I would guess it is from people whose grasp of reality is a hair detached from most peoples.
I dont see your point I think we all have a grasp of reality and accept we have to sell it is the price we have problems with. Selling at a profit is the way forward but it has to be a workable profit.
A Premier League club have made an offer for Smithies. Smithies understandably is very interested in the move. We are short of cash, heavily restricted by FFP. Cardiff presumably don't want to pay more than £4M so unless another club makes an offer for Alex our hands are pretty much tied are they not?

Sure we can reject the bid and hold Alex to his contract but then we are left with a disgruntled player and have missed out on a much needed £4m some of which we will need to recruit players, remember we have lost Ned and Robinson.
So you're basically saying we should sell at whatever price, and allow Cardiff to exploit us? F*ck that! What about the self-esteem of the club, let alone trying to build a quality side.

I repeat- Smithies has done more than any other player in the past two seasons to keep us in the Champ. Now we're losing a couple of other defenders in Ned and Robinson, I can see us letting in a lot more next season if we lose him. The new manager isn't Houdini. (He isn't even Paul Daniels)

Super Shteve is bang up against it he’s just lost three of his back five, no matter what team you are (City aside) in what league, you lose three starters from your back five & your in trouble.

We now have a defensive unit that wouldn’t look out of place in league1.

No goalscorer, skint & still 5 weeks for sum1 to raid the midfield.

Erm could anyone please pinch me & wake me from this nightmare.

Calm down.

We'll sign players, and Smithies hasn't gone anywhere yet. If he does, it's one of the few areas where we already have decent back-up.

So, according to SSN it's not £4,000,000. It i £3,000,000 plus another £500,000 if Cardiff stay up.

So ... £3,000,000 it is then! At that price we are giving him away. Middlesbrough just paid £7,000,000 for a Brizzle City midfielder.

Come on, how many pens has Smithies saved? How many MOTM performances? How many last ditch saves?

If Cardiff want him, fine - but don't give away the crown jewels for peanuts.

£3m is a pathetic sum. We may as well offer them Freeman and Scowen for a million combined.

According to the Huddersfield Examiner, there is also a sell-on clause from which Huddersfield Town will benefit (the percentage has not been revealed, apparently).
There is something about this proposed transfer that we do not fully understand.
It's simple. Score more goals than they do.

...so at the end of all these clauses it will be good if we are not paying for him to leave........

Wake up! He's not in the squad for the Portugal training camp for a start, which should give even your scary complacency a bit of a nudge. Ingram's played four games at Champ level, Lumley's played three. Has Seny played at all?

Yikes! Looks like the asset-stripping starts here.

Just flicking aorund on a Cardiff Forum to see any thoughts on this.

The big thing for them is that Hoilett has signed!

They love him.

Why didn't he do wonders for us?

He was instrumental for them last season.

What the pribbling idle-headed giglet are you on about ?

Excuse me for not wetting myself 5 weeks before the season starts. But carry on. You clearly relish any opportunity to give the club a good kicking. Whatever gets you off.
