Gareth McCauley is rumoured to be going to Rangers.

That has to be within our budget.
38 yrs old & would make Clint Hill look like Usain Bolt.

Your taking the piss right?
Class is class whatever your age.

He'd be a free transfer I assume and infinitely better than anything we currently have.
Neither Dunne nor Nelson were 100 metre champions.

Class yes legs no, not sure I’d associate McCauley with class anyway, been an average defender at average clubs just failed to qualify for World Cup & Got relegated.

You can’t honesty tell me he’s better than Robinson or a fit Hall?

The thing is ... it looks like Robinson is off, and Hall hasn't been fit for 18 months.

Indeed but I’ve heard people mention crouch Barry & now McCauly I’m starting to get concerned a little with the age & stage of players careeers that we’re focusing on.

Dunne was 33 & Nelson 34.

I’m not splitting hairs but @ 38 it’s pushing it slightly.

I wouldn't worry too much ... we always get linked with lots of players, that come to nothing. I think the newspaper men are as bored as we are.

Fair comment Lala. I didn't know he was that ancient.

McCauley didn't leave Irish League football until his late 20's and has held his place in Premiership teams for years.
Hall and Robinson have done nothing to compare to him. Obviously he's not going to play 300 games for QPR but he could certainly improve us for a year or two.

When was the last time a 38-40yr old played outfield for Qpr? Wilkins maybe.

McCauley I’m sure has done a decent job in the Prem over the years but at 38 & only Managing 12 games for West Brom last season not for me thanks.

Dunne was deceptively fast. Yeah he looked like an absolute lummox when he ran, but he wasn't that slow.

Plenty of useful experience and looks OK?
It's simple. Score more goals than they do.

Huntington was born in Carlisle and I know one of his best pals. He reckons we can't match the wages he's on at PNE, so I can't see this one happening

That's a shame. He's left footed too...
