Tbh, i found him generally reactionary and small minded, like a forumming daily mail bot, both politically and on football, i'm sure he's reading this so there you go.

That said i didn't think it was unreasonable to share that his memories are tarnished. There are a huge number of posts fairly, extolling Wilkins' virtues, unfortunately, he made egregious mistakes too, if some people feel they can't look beyond that and recognise the person in many of the positive anecdotes, then that is unfortunate but a consequence of certain actions. For the most part memories of Wilkins have been positive, with some genuinely heartwarming tales.

I didn't realise 'lala had gone, shame, didn't agree with him on a lot of things but he seemed a decent sort. Davef seemed to have devolved a bit, from pedant to a bit of a troll, hopefully he just decided to sack the board off, rather than anything more serious.

I always thought Sheepy was good for a strong opinion with some intellect behind it, sad to see him go and his absence will diminish the biodiversity of the board. Us thin skinned types do get a bit disproportionate from time to time, a shame it has led to his absence.

Personally I would welcome him back when he's ready.

This thread is a bit piss takey isn't it?

This board used to be the best and most vibrant out of all QPR mbs but we've been bleeding contributors for years to the point that we're now probably the smallest. Anyone leaving the board is rarely a good thing and it's a shame that some of you have chosen to slag him off or take the piss because he had opinions you didn't like.

Lee,
Since I started it, I'll hold my hands up and say yes, it was a bit piss-takey, as you put it.

I don't particularly want to see anyone leave the board, but SheepRanger asking DG for his account to be deleted, and then suggesting that he was being forced off because of what he said about Ray Wilkins was real prima donna stuff and deserved mockery in my view.

I disagreed with a lot of what he said, especially politically, but I have never suggested anyone should be barred for having a different opinion to mine.

Call me controversial, but I don't reckon he was that good a left back though.

It can be deathly quiet on here as evidenced by today - only a couple of replies to the away match thread and it's nearly 4.30. We need all the posters we can get !

I can pay him no higher compliment than to say that for a confirmed Tory and long-term Swindon resident, he seemed like a generally decent sort.
Agreed, politically I would never agree with the man but he was always OK with me, sad that he's no longer posting,
broad church and all that.

I think 11 dotorgers could have turned out today and done better than the players did.

No need for Sheepie to go in my opinion. Thought the comments about Ray will inappropriate and ill timed but no need to leave the board.

With regards to today , thought we lacked a target and thus completely lacked direction. We went from poor to capitulating today which given the managers comments about developing an identity means his public comments as so often served to shoot himself in the foot.
We have been taking positive strides forward but today is most certainly one step back.
HAD ENOUGH OF THE COWBOYS .... QPR NEED THE INDIANS.

He appeared to have strong opinions, which he wasn't afraid to share, and was quite happy to defend them. Not that I can recall ever agreeing with him, but I'd have thought those were qualities that a message board would be glad of. Free the Sheepy One.

He removed himself, he isn't being silenced.
