pre-Derby

Post by stainrod's elbow » Sun Mar 04, 2018 2:08 pm

I don't know about you, but I was delighted with the Villa showing - no goals, no injuries, and the teams below us mostly died on their arses. The fact there was also no game should be neither here nor there - it's a performance that'll never be forgotten in our household! (Or indeed remembered.)

Now onto locking horns with the Rams on Tuesday - I wonder if the dimple-cheeked 'F*cking W*nkers' will be watching! As the entire squad's reputation, post-Villa, is splendidly intact, I'd select exactly the same line-up if I were Mr Redknapp, as we're still in the Midlands, and it's eleven vs eleven at the end of the day! The 'Beast from the East' will likely still be swishing its tail, so our Team Leader's preference for running around as much as possible is probably just the ticket (without of course falling over). Lubricate Bobby Zee's hip with a can of WD40, apply a surreptitious smidge of super-glue to Robert Green's indomitable gloves, tip the referee handsomely and I see a late, late show eventuating in a joyously rattle-waving 0-1, especially if we play in our lucky red and white halved shirts.

Can I have Curtis Fleming's job on a one match trial?

Is it me or am I reading this fixture as being at Loftus Road?

Derby haven’t won in five games conceding 10 goals in the process.

With Middboro starting to show signs that Pulis is getting a tune out of them & only five points off the playoffs I’m sure Derby fans are starting to think oh no not again.

So we have nout to play for I don’t think we are in any realistic danger of going down, there should be no pressure on our boys just go out and give it your all that’s all we can ask (oh & tactics of course but that’s not always guaranteed these days).

They should be fresh and raring to go I have a real strong feeling for 1-1 or 1-2 Derby. Let’s hope I’m wrong & we can get a win, finish the season on a positive & get sum results.

Obviously it’s gonna be wingbacks with the most unnatural wingback in history who doesn’t have a trick or attacking bone in his body Bidwell & the out and out tricky forward thinking Wozsolek that will be shackled with defensive responsibility’s, apart from that I’d like to see Smyth and Smith up top with the usual trio behind & the three CB’s made up of what’s available.

Whoops - so it is! Kindly disregard the previous press release.

And so to the game. Kevin Hector is on song, so I suggest a man-marking job to 'hector' him from start to finish - step forward Danny Maddix! Meanwhile, a stiff midfield five to counter the thrusts of 'wee' Archie Gemmill appears the order of the day. I also like the look of their rumbunctious winger, Welsh drunk driver Leighton James. Perhaps they might swap him for Martyn Busby?

I am a professional editor-cum-proofreader. You have some issues, but, G-d willing, we can get through them together.
