Post by Systemsguy » Sat Feb 10, 2018 3:02 pm

Well as Jack got one.... So should Chief!

200 appearances today and team captain...

His contract runs out at the end of the season I believe.... I hope he stays as well as Jack...
2017/2018.... Keep Calm, no matter the season, we'll follow our team.....

Why not indeed Systemsguy.

Ned just turned 31 so he has a decision to make as no doubt the club will make him a good offer. I think he would struggle to nail down a regular starting place in another team in the top third of The Championship and he would bench warm in The Premiership.

I will start a Holly Willoughby watch in the general forum.

Nedum Onuoha has revealed that no talks have been taking place over extending his stay at QPR, despite being in the final six months of his contract.
The Rangers captain made his 200th start for the club in their 2-1 defeat at champions elect Wolves and is a popular member of the squad. But, with Rangers wanting to trim their wage bill, the expectation is, were Onuoha to be offered a new deal, it would be on reduced terms.

As of now, though, there have been no talks with the club and the former Manchester City defender's representatives with Onuoha's focus being on the rest of the Championship season.

He said: “No, there's nothing whatsover. We're going game by game. Whatever the club decide to do is up to them. We're committed and under contract for the rest of the season, we're going to knuckle down and see what happens.”

I'd like to keep Onuoha if it works with the salary structure.

It sounds like poor form from the club not to have even discussed the issue with the club captain.

Whatever you think of him as a player, 200 games for the club is a proper landmark and an achievement that few manage. Congratulations to him.

Seconded. And as he says he will continue to give 100% commitment right to the end
of his contract. One of only a couple of Hughes' signings to be worth the candle.

A sign of truly bad leadership if no one has spoken to him.

Madness if anyone thinks we can get any better for free out there.

Agreed, comes across as a model pro and imo could have jumped ship. I'm sure there are other factors rather than pure loyalty but there is a huge amount to like about Onuoha. He certainly doesn't deserve the opprobrium he receives on here.

We probably don’t want to start offering contracts until our safety is assured, but not to have even had a conversation with him seems strange. Especially as he’s free to talk to other clubs.
If you had a million Shakespeares, could they write like a monkey?
