Surely a more serious charge should be brought than just throwing something on the pitch. I think someone should find out who he is where he lives and works and any other info... then just make him regret his actikns, legally obviously but his address could very soon get black listed by all and sundry. Smithies cant do that much but we can exact revenge. Legally obviously.

Total tosh really

what can he expect by way of sanction:

£100 fine
banned from games for 3 years - its Boro under Pulis - be honest, they're doing him a favour
60 hours community service

he'll have to pay more than the fine to commute down here for the session in Court / take a day off, assuming he works - assuming it's a "he"
that's not a sanction

I'd give him a Rangers Season Ticket and expect him to turn up every week 'til season end, that's proper punishment....

I don't think we can assume it works, this is Middlesborough. They'll find it rooting through bins round the back of the local kebab house. Seriously though, we have video footage and whether or not it really was Smithies bottle (I have my doubts), he should be punished. Maybe some re-runs of Tony Pullis Stoke would be enough?

Oh so true Danish! My mate in San Francisco mentioned this to me yesterday, it's in the news there. The only time we really get talked about in football terms is when we exit the FA Cup early every year.
