Leaving Early

Post by StevenageRanger » Sun Jan 21, 2018 3:12 pm

I’m a ST holder in the Lower Loft and have been coming to Loftus Road since I was 5 which is 38 years (there is reason for adding this!!)

Yesterday myself, my two kids (14 and 9) along with my parents who are all ST holders of many a year decided to leave when the 3rd goal went in! I had my 9yo old wanting to go from about 70 mins as we had come pretty much from his football match in the morning!

Anyway as I was on may way past a ‘loyal’ supporter decided to abuse me for going early, telling me I am not a real fan and should go an support Man Utd!

I replied trying saying it’s my choice when I leave etc etc.. He was not happy and in front of my kids was very irrate!

Can’t wait to see him next game now that I have gathered my thoughts!

You pays your money, you can leave when you like. I left early, as I had to be home by 5.30pm. Sitting it out doesn't make you any more or less "loyal", we all have other things that are going on which we have to attend to.

Personally, I wouldn't even spend the time gathering your thoughts, it sounds likes you have IMHO your priorities in order.

Totally your choice
I've not done it but it's up to you

My son left early yesterday for the 1st time - pissed off and cold when 3-0 down.

If it were me I'd just politely mention to the bloke next time you see him, its your choice to leave as / when you chose simple as that. In no way does he know your personal circumstances and rudeness infront of your children is unacceptable....

Personally, why not print off this message board thread and give it to him.

while your at it he can read this proving he's a total Arse.

Leaving early is no measure of loyalty.

Over the last 45 years of supporting qpr ive not left early many times but i have left early more recently due to family or other grown up type commitments. However i have been so drunk i cant remember attending games, stayed in the pub and missed beginnings and even not turned up despite my ST for a whole myriad of reasons so lets put leaving early into perspective. I spent the whole second half of a game at molineux in the bar with someone dressed in fancy dress in fact lots of people dressed in fancy dress and my mate who supports Norwich. Last time i left early we scored as i hit Ellerslie road and i turned round and went back in. If anyone ever has a go at you for leaving early look them square in the face and say yes mate whatever get a flipping life its a game of football.

I stayed to the bitter end but don't blame anyone for leaving early. People were wet and cold, the game had been mundane with the Rangers having no chance of getting level, there were transport problems yesterday so it's perfectly understandable.

You should give him a piece of your mind. What the pribbling idle-headed giglet's it got to do with him what time you leave?

Bet he's got a Rangers duvet cover.

...I think you are free to decide when you want to leave.....
then it may happen that you miss the final goals as it happened
with Brentford....again, your choice ...your miss...

...I never leave before the final whistle...never did and never will do....

only possibility that I can think of is...having some very urgent issue to attend....

No problem Stevenage,

I liked it too when I wrote so yes, I think the thread content proves a point,

your choice to leave. End of.

I don't like the idea of others pushing their perspective on people, you may have had family in a hospital you need to visit, an urgent call or other commitments as you outlined with you son. Plus, their showing you up in public, shouting the odds is just their frustration of our losing. Suspect if we were leading 3:0 he wouldn't have had a problem.

" you only sing when your winning" springs to mind.....but now we're going "in the phycologists chair" territory.

Have a good week

The only time I have left a QPR game early was in April 1986. We were losing 3-0 to Oxford at the time. Or have I imagined that?
It's simple. Score more goals than they do.

Just because folk support the finest football team it doesn't make them nice people.

In my row there are people that arrive late to the game as they have been in the bar, leave before the first half finishes to go to the bar and then finally return late for the second half as they have been in the bar. Three times we all have to stand up for them during the game. Never an apology or thank you.

When results don't go our way they sometimes leave giving the players one and two finger salutes.
