10 points from the play offs

Post by SheepRanger » Sat Jan 13, 2018 8:44 pm

With a good transfer window we can make up the gap.

In Ollie we trust.

4 or 5 losses on the bounce which he has a decent track record of & he’ll more than likely be sacked.

In Ollie we trust.

With our defensive injuries behind us and a few goals throughout the team there is as much chance of us winning a few games in a row now as going on a losing streak.

O behave, the lot of you! We're not getting into the top six, and don't deserve to. It's mostly a team of journeymen, with the odd bright spark - willing, but limited, inconsistent, and short of quality. I'll be delighted if this lot, and this manager, finish top half.

Apologies if I sound like Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street, but, y'know, take a leaf out of Larry David's notebook and curb your enthusiasm!

We are 9 points from the bottom three which is effectively 10 with the goal difference. If people dismiss ten points from the play offs then you do the same about relegation. I was merely stating a fact.

Personally I have dismissed the play offs and relegation as both highly unlikely. Please curb your enthusiasm and pessimism.

Mid-table this season was the aim in a transitional season and I think we'll achieve that.

A team of journeymen? I mean, there are some fair criticisms of our team thrown around but I’m struggling with that one!

Yep, I agree. I'd never describe players like Smithies, Onuoha or Luongo as journeymen. We have a few but most if not all Championship sides will too.

Apart from the cold, I really enjoyed yesterday. It was so much better than any away game I went to in the Premiership.

The money was great in the EPL, although we did our best to p*** it up the wall. The football wasn't great (I think mostly the Premiership is over hyped and over rated). For those who couldn't get to games we had good coverage on Sky, but that came at a cost - games rarely on a Saturday at 3pm, and then there is our own curse of Sky, with crap performances and results.

On balance I would take ... a few yo-yo years to sort out the finances. Brilliant promotion seasons, and not getting too depressed by the relegations. The crucial thing in those lean years is not to panic, sack the manager or throw silly money at it.

I certainly think the Championship is more fun, more competitive than the so called elite league.

Indeed Zed; an opinion that I and other football supporters I know share.

Agreed - was looking at the Premier League yesterday and how many teams are ruined chasing the dream - Sunderland seem to be going that way.

The like of Man Utd and City, Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool will never ever be in any danger - FFP has helped see to that. Everton had a brief moment but soon sorted.

On the wrong end of results any number of weeks and disappointment when you don't pick up results you would hope for - usually with players who see your club as a meal ticket.

Happy to see this team develop and pick up some results along the way - funny if we took some points off Derby and Fulham ...
