We have quite a lot of defenders on the books. Anyone think we should be letting a couple go?Same with the wide players. Be interesting to see the squad at the end of this month.

The problem with our defenders is that they've been injury prone so it's rare to have them all available. Anyway we need them all for Holloway to use his tranche of nicknames - Baps, Hally, Robbo, Perchy, Bidders etc

There are 8 defenders in the first team squad: Alex Baptiste, James Perch, Nedum Onuoha, Grant Hall, Jack Robinson, Joel Lynch, Darnell Furlong, Jake Bidwell, and 2 U23s who have first team squad numbers: Nicholas Hamalainen, Osman Kakay

I'm not a fan of Lynch and, although he had a surprisingly good game against Burton, I doubt he's going anywhere particularly with Hall yet to prove his fitness. Onuoha, Perch, Robinson and Kakay all have contracts that finish this summer and I'd definitely keep Onuoha and Robinson. Hamalainen needs a loan to play men's football. The rest need to stay.

There are 4 wide players in the first team squad: Pawel Wszolek, David Wheeler, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Paul Smyth and 1 U23s with a first team squad number: Olamide Shodipo.

I think Wheeler could benefit from a short loan to a Division 1 side to get games, and Shodipo would benefit from a loan too. I know people will tell me Smyth is a striker, but his natural position is out wide and I think that's where he'll end up.

Unfortunately too many of our defenders are natural CBs and just don't have the pace and mobility to be FBs.

Have you missed the shortage of defenders we've had this season?

All of the foregoing do point for me both to the bloated, frustrating and imbalanced complexion of our current squad. To wit, a lack of specialist attacking full backs, loan/playing issues with some younger players, our non-playing wide men/wingers, and that's before we get onto our goal-shy strike force.

I think things are, slowly, going in the right direction, but there's plenty of work for IH still to do. As I imagine (hope) he knows.

If there is any truth in it then a straight swap for any one of there four strikers they paid a fortune for would be welcomed, all big physical types that can score goals at this level.

Where did you see that?

He'd be a huge loss. Although in terms of style of play Cousins is a fairly natural, albeit inferior replacement.

All the signs are Ollie is going to have generate his own transfer funds this window as the cheque book has been snapped shut on Uncle Tony's fingers by Ruben et al....

The only movement has been out as the squad is trimmed with no funds being made from them...

So who is a saleable item for this window?

Luongo would surely be one of them with Smithies and Freeman the others.... Ingram's being brought back would be a "just in case" on Smithies though rather than

Wouldn't be surprised if Pawel was sold as considering he's an INTERNATIONAL class winger and he only seems to either be played out of position at wing back or sits on the bench until we're losing a match late in the game by Ollie...

"Ollie's wingless wonders" has a certain ring to it doesn't it?
2018/2019.... Keep Calm, no matter the season, we'll follow our team.....

Fair enough, wasn't an accusation, i was just curious if it had come from Dave Mc or someone.

No he hasn't. Lumley's gone out on loan, so didn't have a 2nd Keeper. We had a clause in Ingram's contract for a 24hr recall - Northampton weren't interested in that so signed another keeper and sent him packing.

I see Chris Martin's been made available for loan by Derby. Utter melt, but he scores goals.
