Freeman's replacement tomorrow

Post by dm » Fri Dec 01, 2017 12:46 pm

Ollie's said “To be honest it will probably be a very exciting young one who has done well for us before.” So that's probably Ryan Manning but I did wonder if it might be Ilias Chair?

Not sure if it's Mannings role unless Mass gets moved further forward. It's set up for Eze if he was here..... Chair Maybe? Could be the knock off of his career like Manning last season

Could be another tactical masterstroke from Ollie so it is hard to know who will play where. Any news on the injuries front ?

Seems to be ANOTHER position where we are suspect if the first choice is out of action. I know injuries have taken their toll but we should really have two creditable options in every position.

I'd be more reassured if i knew our manager had made his mind up, had a clear plan and had already prepared the team.

Manning's role in the first team has been quite different from positions in which he's played in the past, and he's a first choice striker for the Ireland U23s. QPR use him as a defensive midfielder and he's quite often been described as a 'tough tackling' midfielder, which to some degree he can be.

This isn't a problem just now at his tender age of 21, but it might be if he was still being bounced around the team to fill gaps in a couple of years time. The lad needs to establish his identity in the squad.

Amazed to learn he's a budding international striker for Ireland - just can't see it. Mind you - could he score fewer goals than Washington?

Gut feeling is that Chair will be bought into the side... Holloway has been waiting for a chance to play him, and tomorrow is as good of an opportunity as any.

Let's hope he performs if given a shot, he's really impressed for the reserves...

Hope it's Chair. We need someone to get the fans up out of their seats.

To be fair we do already have several players that are capable of getting the fans up out of their seats but admittedly not necessarily for the right reasons.
