Unfortunately that's quite a big "if"................

So, I guess we will be 7 points clear come the end of the game.

We are behind Brentford.Their scouting ,buying and coaching are ahead of Rangers.Frankly apart from Penrice I have my doubts about the set-up.
Holloway needs help.
I would be very happy with a draw.

Holloway needs to be very very careful about this game,as I feel the fans are turning.

We really do not want to criticise him, but he needs help.

Rangers need a result.

We do need a result, but we also need a performance that's both gritty and, dare I say it, reminds Sky subscribers (not to mention us fans) we can actually play a bit of football after all. If Brentford play us off the park for a third time, and we go down without a whimper, it just won't be good enough whoever is in charge.

Our defensive injuries certainly aren't helping, but we need to be on the front foot, up for the challenge, and take the game to them. If we can do that, a 2-2 draw, say, would be satisfactory for now. But I must admit I'm not very optimistic.

We're in for an extremely tough game tomorrow night.

We can say whatever we want about the scouting and quality of coaching - but any team would struggle with the number of injuries we currently have.

Anything but a loss would be a very good result considering the circumstances.

We're missing one or two defenders, sure, but that didn't stop us beating both Wolves and Sheffield United. Caulker has hardly played this season in any case, so hardly figures. Apart from, potentially, Cousins (who's hardly been outstanding), our first choice midfield will be available (with Luongo having had a rest), and all our strikers. LuaLua is fit, but just not being picked. It's 11 vs 11 on the night, I believe, and a West London derby to boot, so let's get a little bit real, shall we?

The team needs to get out there and try to win the game. If it's a repeart of the Cup game, or even the last league game at home against them, the players and the manager will rightly be getting the bird.

Missing one or two defenders? Have you seen who is unavailable?

James Perch
Nedum Onuoha
Steven Caulker
Grant Hall
Jordan Cousins
Joel Lynch
Darnell Furlong

Even Niko Hamalainen, the only reserve with any first team appearances has now pulled out from tomorrow as well.

You may not feel that the above should make any difference, but any side in this division would struggle with the above. That's a crippling list regardless of any previous results...

I'm not saying we should go out and park the bus, but it's very hard to judge and point fingers when you consider the above IMO.

See my previous post. Chief and Perch have been out for ages, while Hall, Furlong and Caulker have hardly played either. The rest of the squad is (as far as I know) at full strength. Though I don't massively rate Lynch, he'll admittedly be a miss, but calling it a crisis sounds to me like getting excuses in early.

As IH says, times like this is what your squad is for, and we have a large one by Championship standards. I expect us to make a decent fist of it tomorrow night in a game in which we badly need to win back some local self-respect. I hope we can.

Players owe the supporters a big performance against this lot - unfortunately I don't think they are capable of it. Glad I won't be near a Sky product tonight.

Earlier in the season, I thought that we had a problem with too many players - difficult to keep them all motivated. But, now it looks different. If I am up-to-date with injuries, then, at the back, we have Baptiste, Robinson and Bidwell fit. Switching the three to a five and enabling the midfield also to offer an attacking threat looks to be a challenge - we certainly do not want any more injuries in the near future.
Much will depend on the support tonight. Did anyone hear the Huddersfield crowd on TV in the game against Manchester City, yesterday? A bit of that would help.
It's simple. Score more goals than they do.

Yawning chasm ?

They're one place and two points above us in the league.

So anything less than a comprehensive 6-0 to Rangers will not be acceptable to your good self?

I take it you've already written your latest whinge?
