QPR v Aston Villa

Post by Andy_N19 » Sat Nov 18, 2017 4:03 pm

First half very bitty, Cousins should be hauled off. We are woefully short on quality folks!

We're a huff and puff team that'll get badly found out from time to time, especially against teams we accept in advance have an Indian sign over us (hello, Forest) plus all Cup games, while over-achieving at times against our 'betters'. Cousins just doesn't look good enough, when fit, but he's hardly the only one, while the best of the bunch, such as the likes of Freeman, blow hot and cold. Don't think we'll threaten the playoffs, while being a little too good (or not bad enough) to go down.

In a word, meh!

This has turned into a piss poor performance.

Sounds like they're starting to batter us - now 1-2, and 21 shots to our 9. :(

Judging by the stream I'm watching, that's a tad strong.
Question everything.

I'm at Loftus Rd, it's a terrible performance!

Good for you. Not the best second half performance I grant you but that's probably what you get when you play a team who have spent 83 million quid since relegation. Had Smith been a bit more clinical with his chances...well, just maybe we might have got something from the game.
Question everything.

Sounds like we didn't deserve anything. What was the pen decision like?

The pen was hard to see from where I sit but plenty of others were not happy.

We didn't deserve anything out of the game. 1st half held our own quite well but capitulated in the 2nd. I have a feeling teams know our weaknesses in defence now, and Villa certainly flooded forward in the 2nd and should have scored more. It might be time to change our shape to try and mitigate these weaknesses.

Agreed. We were very poor. Outclassed by a side who never really got going. Smith is so limited.

We did quite well in the first half but succumbed to a ref assisted burst from Villa toward the end of the half. Second half they just stepped up a gear and slaughtered us. I don't like playing without wingers. What's the point of a cavalry charge with three strikers on when there's noone to supply crosses. That said I don't think any formation of the players we have available would have coped with Villa's second half performance. I fear there will be many afternoons such as the one we've just suffered.

Two teams two different planets, they're a huge club with a huge net spend & wage bill, we are little old Qpr.

We have given up more leads than any other team in the division which is frustrating we just can't hold on when in front.

I think the lineup said it all, all the pace and spark left on the bench.

Anyway with the ffp debacle & the fact we are pretty light on squad depth & quality, today's result is not the end of the world.

Good turn out nearly 17k so hats off to those in attendance, Tough month with Derby & Brentford coming up, let's hope we can get a result out of the next two.

Let's hope Luongo Freeman Smithies don't get to disinterested and do the off in Jan.

Missed luongo 2nd half. Fairly even first half with us doing well in midfield. Second half that stopped.

The subs were toothless upfront.

Smith is a decent goal threat. Could’ve nicked a goal, but we didn’t deserve a point on that 2nd half performance.

Sorry Happy Clappers, but that was crap. If you pick Smith, then play with width and get some crosses into him. Easily the worst home performance of the season; guaranteed third successive defeat on Tuesday, so we’ll be dropping like a stone by the time Brentford turn up.

I don't recall seeing you post when we beat Wolves and Sheffield - must have really pissed you off not being able to come on here and spread some some more gloom?
