Agreed, but that's quite a meteoric rise in responsibility for Robinson, firstly in terms of being a first team regular and secondly in terms of being a centre half. Don't get me wrong, he's done well there, but I think we all would've been pessimistic if we knew he would end up being a regular at centre half. Also, he's looked good for the short time he's played as the left sided player in a back three (surprisingly good in the air) but aside from the second half vs milwall he hasn't really been tested as one of two centre backs.

Everyone knew we were short there and we needed someone extra preseason (even after baptise signed).
I'm quite surprised that It's ended up as Robinson at CB and Bidwell in the wider role.

Agreed. I think Bidwell would be more likely to be CB.

Bidwell the most bang average over hyped pre signing we've ever made, Brentford captain major robbery taking there best defender blah blah blah your having a bubble, the most one dimensional full back I've ever seen.

We shall need the well-considered advice of Alex Baptiste, to decide how to set up a threadbare defence to cope with his former team.
If we get a point today, it will be remarkable. Stranger things have happened, of course.
It's simple. Score more goals than they do.

Robinson coped reasonably against Millwall but got out-bundled by Morison. Who have Boro got up front these days ? Is Rudi Gestede still there ? If its anyone big we might struggle. I'd stick Kakay on the bench. He has got attributes that lad.
Come on you Sooopa ........

It's a shame we don't have Alex Finney available, our 21 year old CB who is on loan at Maidstone. He had some experience of first team football at Bolton before coming to us and seems to be well thought of. I can't see other options in our U23s making the first 11, maybe Hamalianen on the bench.

I think we'd better assume we'll lose today. A positive performance would be good. As said above, getting anything out of this game would be outstanding.

Ollie's confirmed Onuoha's out for three months. Following Hill not being signed, Dave Mc said he thinks we'll find another CB - a free agent I assume.

Three months is a bitter blow. I imagine all the other injured players will be fit long before then. Our position could be worsened if Robinson doesn't maintain fitness, hopefully his problems are over. Not sure about players out of contract though, they're not going to be match fit and probably with too many birthdays under their belts.

Encouraging news about Chief's recovery being 5 weeks ahead of schedule. If there is still anyone who thinks he is stealing a living from the club after hearing about how he played on with his hamstring detached from his femur for over 30 minutes then please keep your thoughts to yourself. After hearing that, I am even more inclined to believe that he did take a 75% pay cut to stay at QPR. I really hope the club offer him a new deal when his current one runs out. There doesn't seem to a person at the club who has a bad word to say about him and that is the sort of character we need at the club.
It's not the despair that will kill you, it's the hope.

I'm a big fan. Providing his salary expectations are in line with the current wage structure i'd love to have him next season. I wouldn't begrudge him moving on though if a PL team fancied he could do a job. I hope we don't rush him back, as demonstrated with Cousins, that doesn't end well for hamstrings.

Full respect to him for continuing to play, but the two aren't mutually exclusive. Just because someone plays their heart out doesn't mean they don't want to be compensated for it.

Well said. We need his sort at the Rangers and please, no more of the thimble-riggers we've had in the past. Just JET and Caulker to get off the books now.
