I confess I originally thought this was a thread about Rs' players' body parts - Clint Hill's back, Stainrod's elbow etc. etc. - and that perhaps Clint was suffering (like me right now, I'm sorry to say) with some kind of veteran's sciatica. Just off the top of my head, we could start with a 'hair-raising' first series:

1. Sandro's (silly) beard
2. Bircham's mohican
3. Tricky's dreadlocks
4. Gerry's mullet . . .

I'll see myself out.

Bircham's blue & white hair.

An ITK on Loft For Words claiming it was money at the heart of the breakdown. I am a bit surprised at that as he surely wouldn't have been expecting too much would he?

You wouldn't think so.

Maybe the club were only willing a pay as you play? Can't see him making much elsewhere. No doubt those with an axe to grind will be out in force.

A shame this didn't go through seeing as we are running out of defenders!

I wouldn't have thought Clint would be asking for much and I don't suppose the club were offering much! I am sure there are other factors we shall never hear about.

Good luck Clint.

Hes 39 next month so glad he didnt sign as a player. Id rather give one of the kids a run out. If we've signed them we need to blood them to see how they cope and to gain experience. Such a knee jerk move to even consider Clint.

Signed a short-term deal at Carlisle.

Curious move given they're in L2, it's short term and i doubt the money is great. It isn't even close to Liverpool. Maybe it was down to game time?

Maybe that was what stopped the deal at QPR, he wanted to play more than the club could offer. Fair play to him for wanting to extend his time on the pitch, it worked for Ray Wilkins.

Agreed, it was suggested that was why he left last time, although it sounds a bit like Hill has refuted that.

Same for Ale Faurlin, he wanted assurances about first team opportunities and the club wouldn't give them to him so he left.
