Matt Smith is no clinical finisher is he? Ngbakoto and Wzsolek look good.
It's not the despair that will kill you, it's the hope.

Hall's got a niggle as do Goss & Cousins so they rested them.ZENITH R wrote: ↑Sat Jul 15, 2017 8:29 pmWhere was Grant Hall? I think our defence looks a lot more solid with him in it. The games where we played him screening the back four last season we looked much stronger at the back. I am hoping Scowen's arrival will help us to use that as a viable tactic going forward.deadendjob wrote: ↑Sat Jul 15, 2017 8:03 pmHighlights vs Peterborough here: https://www.qpr.co.uk/videos/highlights ... h-2-qpr-4/
Based purely on the highlights:
1. Our defense still looks poor. Second half were all youngsters, but Peterborough could've got a few in the first half.
2. Yeni, Mackie, Pavel looked like our best players.
3. Scowen sounds like he might be a good signing.
4. Youngster Charlie Owens has scored in the past two pre-season friendlies. Possible he may be pushing for first team?

Anybody know how the youngsters got on at Bovingdon?
Birchams brother is player manager over there, I did consider it as there is a market over that way for the mrs to have a nose & then drop the bombshell that qpr are playing round the corner, thought better of it in the end.

Not sure how Ollie justified benching those two so often towards the end of last season, hope he doesn't continue that trend.Esox Lucius wrote: ↑Sat Jul 15, 2017 8:32 pmMatt Smith is no clinical finisher is he? Ngbakoto and Wzsolek look good.

Indeed. If Ollie continues playing 4231 those two should be either side of Freeman in the 3.westlondonlalala wrote: ↑Sat Jul 15, 2017 8:47 pmNot sure how Ollie justified benching those two so often towards the end of last season, hope he doesn't continue that trend.Esox Lucius wrote: ↑Sat Jul 15, 2017 8:32 pmMatt Smith is no clinical finisher is he? Pavel is probably our more technical player....
remember his wonder goal to Ipswich... how he controls the long ball, avoid the defender and the keeper...class...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3FZdB3fGoI
and also watching today's highlights, he cut into the defense from the side, looking up to somebody to serve the ball...

5-0 apparently we beat bovy, not sure what sort of team we fielded but Ramsey was there so assume it was a youth side.

Some of those player ratings are an absolute nonsense.

And there you have the nub of why we may be relegated at the end of the season.
At the risk of inviting sacrilege, I'd have been happy to see J. Terry from the Scum come
down the road if that meant beefing up and educating our obviously inadequate defence!!

Just like Rio Ferdinand did? (I appreciate he had personal issues too)Andy_N19 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 16, 2017 11:33 amAnd there you have the nub of why we may be relegated at the end of the season.

That's ignoring the fact that he racially abused one of our own players. I'd rather go down than have that cunt in the side. I'm not sure Terry is going to stop fortunate deflections, it's worth bearing in mind that was a youth team left back playing centre half in a pre-season friendly, so not quite the disaster it sounds.
