Just look at last seasons final table https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=champ ... e&ie=UTF-8

All finished on less points than we did this season and yet all finished in this season's playoffs. Probably not as highlighted as such as a disaster season because the relegated 3 were so poor compared to Wigan/Blackburn who gave it more fight this season.

So, all in all, anything can happen next season

That's one way of looking at it.
An encouraging way, too. :)
It's simple. Score more goals than they do.

All of them have decent managers though.

Three have decent newish grounds and all four generate more income than ours does outside of ticket sales.

They had faith in their managers (Fulham, Sheff Weds and Huddersfield) from last season. We sacked ours when he was trying to make us more solid. Many on here would do the same with Ollie. Patience, my dear friends. Patience.

We didn't look too solid during our record home defeat.

A comparison of where their managers came to the respective clubs from is interesting:

Stam (Jong Ajax to Reading)
Wagner (Borussia Dortmund to Huddersfield)
Carvalhal (Istanbul BB to Sheffield Wednesday)
Jokanović (Maccabi Tel Aviv to Fulham)

Perhaps the key to employing a decent manager is casting the net a bit further than Les Ferdinand's phone book.

If you delve too deep into Les' phonebook, god knows what you'll find or who we might get as our next manager :D

At least Dani Behr would be an improvement on the last three.

They all had decent seasons with clear signs of progress so keeping faith with their managers was an easy option. Whatever our manager was "trying" to do, it really wasn't working was it?
