Proven Championship striker Daryl Murphy has been told by promoted Newcastle that he is surplus to their needs.
He's had a run of injuries recently but Sunderland and Villa are supposed to be interested in him. He's 34 now and his best days might be behind him but he was the top Championship scorer (27 goals in 2014/15) in his Ipswich days.

Murphy's still a good signing imo - provided he's used as backup. He's better than the existing strikers we've got (bar maybe Sylla), my concern is that he's a target man and we've got 2 of those already.

No. I don't think he's what we need and is very injury prone.

Is Chris Samba still £12 million?
It's simple. Score more goals than they do.

I would have signed him the second that he was released by Rangers.

Agree on the injuries, but think he's a decent player. An on-form LuaLua on one side and Pawal on the other could be pretty good?

Doesn't appear that we are linked with him either way...

I can remember both being on the bench together on more than one occasion last season.

Really frustrated me as they are the only two natural wingers in the squad, God only knows why Wozsolek fell out of favour.

Hall is partial to an injury that's why I left him out.

Why?

Great servant for us, but he couldn't hold down a place at Rangers, he's 38 and other clubs aren't queuing up.

Celtic linked with a move for Caulker.

Scottish champions Celtic have held talks with QPR defender Steven Caulker about the prospect of a move, according to the Mirror.

The defender has had a difficult time of late and recently went public about his battles with depression, gambling and drinking.

In an interview with the Guardian, the 25-year-old hinted that his future would be away from Loftus Road, and a move to the SPL could be the perfect opportunity for him to revive his career.

Caulker appeared to have the world at his feet just a few years ago, with spells at Tottenham Hotspur, Swansea, Southampton and Liverpool leading to his first senior England caps.

However his personal problems have stalled his playing career, although it’s understood that the defender has been working hard behind the scenes to try and reignite his career, and may well get that opportunity under Celtic's former Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers, who managed Caulker during his spell at the Swans.

I think Celtic would actually be a good club for Caulker to revive his career.
