Having watched the highlights of our pre season I don't think we need any new players to avoid relegation, we just need to pick the right players, the right tactics and play them in their best positions.
It's not the despair that will kill you, it's the hope.

Jedinak?! We'll soon have an entire team composed only of defensive midfield players.

I don't think we need many. CB, RB, Striker for me.

Hmmm, a bit radical that kind of thinking - let's wait until Ollie has played everyone in every position and formation before we rush to judgement...

Bar an Austin quality striker, for around £30m, I think we have all we need. For £10-15k I don't think we can improve at all.

A £4 - £5m striker would help. Washington isn't going to get too many, I think Smith will get marked tightly and Sylla will be inconsistent. We need an out and out no. 9 but I admit they are hard to find.

Take a risk on a premier league Loan, Brizzle did it & it paid off.

No liability with a loan.

that is a sentence that I heard from an old very good - and wise - manager....
simply select the most in-form players and make them play in their fav position...
and it is something that looked like missing for most of the last few seasons.....

I don't feel either full back is good enough to keep us out of the bottom half or perhaps worse

Ollie now saying we might need to cash in on a few first teamers to fund 3-4 new signings. Warming us up for the departure of Smithies to Sunderland? I reckon £5m will do it.

Smithies being sold is inevitable. It's just a matter of time.

Don't forget there's Caulker, Borysiuk, and El Khayati who all seem surplus to requirements and may bring in some cash if/when sold. It's possible we might even get a little bit for JET.

Robinson on the left and Perch on the right is going to be better than at least five to seven teams in the Championship. Injuries that put us fielding Bidwell/ Lynch on left and Furlong on the right would be a bit disconcerting.

I'd put Furlong ahead of Perch, but it appears a new RB is being sought after.

We should not let Borysiuk go anywhere unless it's for a healthy profit (which it won't be yet).

Esox, i think you're being harsh on Furlong. I agree we're not that light on personal and we shouldn't be close to relegation if the players are used properly. It's going to be hard converting that position to one that can break into the top half and then challenge for the playoffs.

It you listen to Ollie's latest interview on the official site he hints very strongly about his desire to get Caulker involved... Seems those higher up want rid of him though.
