A New Centerback?

Post by Attarturk » Tue Apr 18, 2017 2:46 pm

As of recent as many of you would agree, Onuoha hasn't not been up to standard and we would possibly need a new centre back to not really replace him, but to put pressure on him to preform better as at the moment unless caulker comes back from the darkness we haven't got a good replacement apart from that youth guy " Finney ". Problem is of the top of my head I can't thing of any high championship / low premiership defender who we could potentially buy in our budget, unless we could get around 3'million for caulker. Any Ideas for a good Centerback to maybe replace Lynch or onuoha. Or put abit of pressure on them.

I mentioned it prior to us playing them, but I've always rated Aden Flint. Not the level you mentioned above, but I would wager he maybe within our realms of spending. Not sure what his form has been like this season, but he played well against us.

Otherwise Bjelland (looks like bell end  ) from our neighbors at Brentford's good - although I can't imagine them selling to us or even at a reasonable price.

I can't see us getting close to 3m for Caulker. His form has been mostly poor for as long as anyone can recall over than a few Championship games last year. He did nothing when out on loan, he's perenally injured, is carrying a huge amount of baggage and only has a year left on his contract.

I'd hoped Holloway would take a look at Finney before the season was out.

How's Aaron Pierre looking these days? he was mooted for a while, but it would be a huge step up.

Edit: About to be disciplined for headbutting a fan outside Tescos.

No need for that sort of language.

John Terry is a great shout , as it would mean we had someone who knows how to defend and also how to score a goal so its just as well he would not be interested .

I used to work with a bloke called Terry John. I'd rather have him.

Off to Brighton so the rumours go.

I hope so, it would be delightful to see them fail together. I can just imagine Him and Lewis dunk squaring up to each other angrily after Sergio Agüero has ghosted between them to complete a first half hatrick.

Experience and leadership is needed....
Doubt we could afford/attract the likes of, but would be great additions for the Championship

Craig Cathcart

Out of contract potentials

Martin Kelly
Phil Bardsley
Damien Delaney

I would love to see us get Tammy Abraham on loan next season for a striking option.
