QPR v Swindon 20.09.1969

Just spotted this on LfW. Worth watching for some nice examples of Marsh's skill and for rare footage of Alan Wilks, a player who once scored 5 goals in one game for QPR.

Thanks for that dm, it seems really strange when the goalies pick up back passes.

I was at that game ... it was the first time I witnessed a QPR victory. All my games the previous season (in Division 1) had ended in either defeat or a draw. We did only win 4 league games in 1968/9 mind, so not surprising.
Saturday 9th November 1968: QPR V Burnley in the First Division - I saw the Hoops for the first time and my obsession began!

I seem to recall we signed Don Rogers later in his career, and it always amused me that he almost always seemed to leave the field with his kit spotless whatever the weather, despite being involved in the action - like that film with Alec Guinness (Don Rogers and Alec Guinness, now I'm showing my age....)

Oxford in the League cup. And it sticks in my mind because I'm sure I remember watching from behind the School End goal. No idea how or why.

I think he also scored in a game with his very first touch after a matter of seconds in another game after coming on as a sub.

Much of which is somewhat spoiled by that moustache.
