Utterly ridiculous - he's been back 5 months, and Derby (though they're on a bit of a bad run) could still make the play-offs from 10th! Their stupidly 'entitled' club now deserves to plummet!

Football management has become an unmanageable joke!
There's no real pressure on the manager though, despite what they come out with at times.

He'll get another decent pay off and another club will give him a job soon, not too many professions where failure (not that McLaren has failed at Derby particularly) doesn't really seem to be a problem for future employment.
Not too many professions where your performance is continually assessed and dissected by the media and the general public either, nor ones where you can have thousands of people (often with limited understanding of what's involved) hurling abuse at you while you go about your work.

I'm sure he will get a decent pay off and probably another job too, but that doesn't mean actually being a manager isn't a hugely pressurised occupation.

Yes very good nodge.

What about a Dutchman doing a Sean Connery impression now that would be something.

Football really does attract some idiots, doesn't it ? And the biggest ones always seem to end up in the highest places. Oh well, at least its not so painful to watch another club self-combusting for a bit.
Come on you Sooopa ........

It's all relative, lower down the pecking order in League 2 or similar where you might not get another job i'd accept that might be pressure, but not if there's always going to be another club coming in and offering loads of money. Given that they choose to do the job I wouldn't regard some abuse from media and fans as a bad trade-off. You'd need a thick skin yes but most have that anyway.

I doubt his pay off would be that big as Im sure the chairman would have put a suitable clause in his contract. He'll pop up again soon enough, possibly back to clogland.

Of course they'd sack McClaren which allows just enough time for Rowett to find his feet before we play them. aniwall

That's what occurred to me too. Still pissed off over that Zamora goal, so sack their manager rather than risk gifting us another 3 points! Disgraceful!

Aitor Karanka sacked from 'boro today. It's a harsh business.
