Leeds team and prediction

Post by White Duck » Fri Jan 17, 2020 7:20 pm

Kelly instead of Lumley goes without saying: surely MW won't stick with Joe for this one.
Wallace for Manning, Rangel for Kane, Leistner hopefully fit to play with Hall: we need to be strong and experienced against the Champions of Europe.
Cameron and Scowen for me in the middle keeping it tight to allow Chair, Eze and BOS to do their thing (Eze in the middle).
Would start Hugill for his physical presence.
I wouldn't start the new lad: a place on the bench for him.

2-1 to us with Hugill and an Eze penalty.

That seems a sensible team to field tomorrow. Leeds of course have had a bad run lately and as we all know to our detriment, we tend to provide such teams with an opportunity to get back on track.

The early kickoff will as usual spoil the atmosphere as will the presence of the detested Sky cameras. I think we'll get clobbered. Something like 1-3 I'm afraid.

On the bright side, we're into the second half of January and we still have the services of our promising youngsters.

Rangel has an unspecified injury which is why he's not played since Hull at home. At 37 he's still a great player, and a much better RB than Kane, but it seems he's only able to play 30% of games now. I doubt he'll be here next season.

We definitely miss him and its a shame he hasn't played more games this season. I wonder if he's doing his coaching badges as they may keep him on in that respect.

Dropping Lumley would see his confidence shot - would have Lumley between the sticks still.

Leeds have Kalvin Phillips in a deep lying midfield role and think their system needs to be stopped by keeping their back four and Phillip's occupied.

Would keep Kane in and start Hall and Leistner with Wallace at left back.

Would start BOS, Cameron, Chair, Clarke with Eze playing off Wells.

You've got to be joking: his confidence (and that of the defence playing in front of him) is totally shot right now. Quite rightly Kelly as been brought in.

Assume Leistner isn't 100% fit as he's only on the bench and Masterson starts.

Quite a gamble starting Masterson against one of the top teams in the league. Is Lumley now our third choice keeper ? That should do his confidence the world of good. I assume Hugill must be injured if he's not even on the bench.
Are headphones getting bigger, or are idiots getting smaller ?

Didn't notice Hugill wasn't even on the bench: being recalled by West Ham possibly? Think Moyes bought him originally but would be surprised if they thought he was good enough for their first team.
