Huntington was born in Carlisle and I know one of his best pals. He reckons we can't match the wages he's on at PNE, so I can't see this one happening
Wow. If that's true, things are worse than I thought.

Is that due to FFP or clubs wage structure

Can't match his wages or won't match his wages? Not necessarily a bad thing. We've been asking the club to be more prudent for a long time. Now if we knew what his wages were and we weren't matching them that might be a different story.

If we can't match his wages that is one thing but if we will not match wages paid by Preston then it is a little more than being prudent

Meanwhile Forest are the ones splashing the big bucks.

I am actually glad we're not doing this anymore.

qpr_john as i have said many times on this Board i can quote a conversation last year with Hoos in which he said our wages etc we can be considered in future in line with clubs like Barnsley. That is where we are and survival is the name of the game.

FFP is based on debt and not spending. A team can spend what it likes along as its debt is within FFP rules

How dos that prevent a rich owner gifting money to a club then?

It is all very confusing as far as I can see FFP does not prevent an owner gifting money to the club only to lending money. But of course the FL is judge and jury. I wonder if that is why our case has not been settled yet

I think the truth is that the FL are just making it up as they go along. Fernandes and the shareholders WROTE OFF loans to QPR, which in effect became gifts. And the lack of transparency from the club about what the hell has been/is going on is now becoming embarrassing to everyone.

This is what frustrates me with the rules. You only have to look at Aston Villa - gambling on promotion, and structuring deals that could only be repaid or affordable if they got promoted.

For all the £’s that we wasted, it was OUR money to spend.

We may not be splashing the cash now (a good thing, for sure) but the owners have access to mountains of cash if they wanted too.

Would you not think that given the club has been challenging FFP in the courts it's not only prudent but a requirement that they don't report on it?

Of course you are completely correct but all he wanted was an excuse to have a pop at the club. Next seasons Steptoe in the making; any excuse to have a dig... tiresome.
