Re: Colin says....
No big team for me mate. The Rangers are as big as I need. I do see Leiston FC in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier a couple of times a year if I'm in Suffolk.krama wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 2:06 pmThink a lot people do if they are totally honest and admit to it. I certainly do. There again I also have a "small" team as well.Systemsguy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 15, 2019 11:11 amLevel playing field in football.... When the likes of Nottingham Forest, Ipswich Town, Derby County, Aston Villa and even lil ole QPR could challenge for the first division title and players went to teams to win trophies rather than just for a larger pay packet....
I remember watching a documentary in the 70s about the LONDON supporters branch of ManUre ....
It really was that unusual not to support your local team then....
Before our first foray in the Premier League since 1996 a "QPR fan" once asked me whose your "big team" !!!!!!![]()
Yeah life and football progresses but not always for the right reasons....
But...QPR will always be number one, obviously.

Uxy writes in defence of our EU membership:
"English football has never been more popular, or richer than it is currently, and while I feel increasingly detached from PL football in particular and the financial insanity of it..."

Or the guardian, indy or ft?
Must add though, that wasn't a cheap quip at you ux, but what you said stood out a mile as, in my opinion, it is the crux of so many incorrect statements about how GDP is all and we should bow to it. Time to get a better measurement of progress and to stop using it as a reason to stay in the EU.

It wasn't said "in defence of our EU membership though", but in response to someone suggesting the EU was to blame for the state of English football.
Nor do I think that it being richer and more popular than ever is necessarily a good thing, though plenty would argue it is.
