Just to show they can do it, an excellent article on football finance in the Times to follow the loathsome Liddle yesterday.
Syed points out that the mere possibility of a European Super League is being used by the top clubs to increase their share of the football pot whilst reducing the so-called solidarity payments and suchlike for the smaller clubs.
I'd like the authorities to call their bluff, but the spineless attitude shown thusfar doesn't auger well. I note that Spuds are not one of the “big6” so if there is a breakaway, they and Everton would be the new big guns in England.

The Times is a good paper for sport. The headline of the article on Scudamore's bonus likened the Prem's determination to get clubs to pay Scudamore's £5 Million, to Mill owners giving two fingers to the working class.
I gather they've backed down now and will pay it themselves. Scudamore stays on as an “advisor”
