Cyrille Regis RIP
An excellent obituary by the BBC and I remember those guys playing back in the day. They were something special and had to go through so much to achieve what they did.

And here he is.
Though I can't say that I remember seeing him as all I remember is the back of heads and one almighty surge on the North Bank ....
RIP Cyrille

Re: Cyrille Regis RIP
What can I say, Cyrille was a hero to me as a West Indian growing up in London,
I've read some of the West Brom forums and they are genuinely shocked and very, very emotional.
Many stories of people hearing about his death while driving and having to pull over to grieve.
I've been tearful most of the day because he stood up to the racial crap and was statesmanlike,
not common in football then and now. He was far more than a footballer and affected social change,
certainly on the terraces and probably beyond. I say this in light of the incredible sh!t that
Jay Rodriguez came out with against Gaetan Bong of Brighton over the weekend.
Rangers are my 1st football love always but Cyrille is up there for sure.

Just read this and listened to the deeply heartfelt tributes of Brian Deane and Dion Dublin: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42690428

Re: Cyrille Regis RIP
Very sad news, great player and was a lovely fella by all accounts.
He played in the first game I went to in '77 along with Laurie Cunningham and Bryan Robson - we won 2-1
I remember the bananas being thrown at him by QPR fans in that cup semi, hypocracy at its best as our hero of the day was Bob Hazel, different times that Cyrillie helped to change.
RIP - you will not be forgotten.
