Take the Wolves model for example, based on contacts of a super agent which looks to be working but may be a short term plan?
Barnsley trying to do the Moneyball thing in football shows that there is at least a plan but massive questions around whether or not that approach that worked in Baseball can translate in football. Add into that the question of FFP and post Brexit uncertainty around work permits etc and you'd have to think the aims may be more modest despite the headlines.
Blackburn, Chelsea and Manchester City have shown you can buy success. QPR have equally shown that there's no quick fixes in football.
