I was discussing this with Mrs 222gers last night. We conluded that in the case of a snack or little treat it is preferable to slightly reduce the size rather than increase the price.

..I read that plenty of products imported from US and Europe are now on reduced size packages in order to keep the price at the same level and do not impact on the UK customers' psychology....
all linked to the weak £ ....and again linked to Brexit....so everything you export is now cheap
and probably easier to be sold abroad...but you have to face the raising costs of imported products...

It must take them a few years to recover the outlay of new Wine Gums moulds, changes in the manufacturing process etc by which time it's time once again to either put the price up or make them even smaller.

Strange world.

A pint of Punk IPA please
Yes, that'll be £5.50
Could you fill the glass please
Yes sir, you only have to ask
I just did. I said a pint and you've given me 3/4 of pint and filled the glass with froth.

My old late mate Bob Abercrombie used to say "could you squeeze a large whiskey into that pint o' bitter ?" The bar person would invariably say yes, to which Old Bob would say " well, fill it up with bitter then ! "
