I have seen the Stone Roses several times now and they are fantastic live. Even though they have a limited back catalogue, the atmosphere surpasses most other gigs I have been to. Could be finished now though so I am told.

This year also, Charlatans were good live.

Anyone seen the Fleet Foxes, thinking of trying them at Brixton this year.. good on record.

Saw Fleet Foxes at Hammersmith about 6 or 7 years ago - they are musically very good and very tight as a band. Depends what you want from a gig - thye have a hardcore of fans who created a good atmosphere but there music makes it quite an acoustic style set. Brixton is probably a bit smaller than Hammersmith so that should help. Personally, if you haven't seen them I would reckon they are worth a punt but they have been away for quite a while and their music can be quite complex, so who knows how they'll be now.

Went to school with Orlando from the Maccabees. Quite surprised they've called it a day, very good band.
Real shame they split - saw them on many occasions and always great value. Was Orlando a good bloke? Always comes across that way.
Now Bombay Biclycle Club have gone on hiatus, there don't seem to be many good new indie bands coming through.
Actually I'm not gonna lie, he was a bit of an idiot! But most of us were at that age..

Felix from Maccabees is filling in on Radio X's "Exposure" for two weeks. Have a listen he's playing some good new indie stuff.

Cheers - I listen to Radio X most of the day but not so much in the evenings - I'll take a listen.
