BBC pay

Post by 222gers » Tue Jul 18, 2017 8:36 pm

The Beeb, after considerable pressure, are to announce what they pay their "top talent" tomorrow. It'll be within bands of £50k rather than the exact amount.

Wonder if Philip Hammond will say they're overpaid. Imagine asking someone how much they are paid "to the nearest £50k".......amazing.

How many nurses could you get for that salary......

I dont consider anyone on the BBC to be talent. When was presenting a skill? Most of them are just failed actors.

Get Lineker off the TV asap.

Be interesting to see how much Gary Lineker gets for chatting about football for an hour a week in the winter.

£2m was widely thought to be the figure.

Hansen was rumoured to be on £1.2m and due to the hardship of getting to work on time once a week his deal included a BBC chauffeur driven car to collect and get him home safely too.

Like nearly all footballers - "he gets 30 or 40k a week" is often heard. That band is over half a million!

I hope they declare is as annual salaries rather than football's disingenuous and insulting 'weekly' crap.

Amazing that presenters earn so much more than actors. I'm really struggling to understand why, you need more talent to be an actor. All presenter do is read an autocue

Just like everything else, the money has gone bezerk - but lets go back to the 70s; 80s...even back then tv presenters were jumping ship for the paypacket - so its been going on for years....I don't agree with the stupid money GL is getting for his antics on MOTD but saying that, would you refuse ? I don't think so...there should be a cap on how many hours you're on the box - like GL, he's on there for two hours or so...right thats so much - even if it was 10.000 an hour, its more than joe bloggs gets for doing a hard days work !!
I blame ITV back in the heyday - and then it spiralled out of control with Sky....
