It's the missing out of the preposition 'to' that gets my goat as in "Are you going Bromley?" Instantly reduces sentences to meaningless pap.

Innit.

"Who's bike is that"?
"It's Haitch's baby"
"Who's Haitch"
"Haitch is dead baby, Haitch is dead"
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Yes, that's an irritating mistake as well.

A controversial episode but I can't remember how they prononuced it.
Was that the episode where Kermit's words had to be spoken by an actor, due to the media ban on his voice ?
That's a transfer that I wasn't aware of, Kermit to Sesame Stereet, hope The Muppets got a cheap replacement!
Few are agreeable in conversation, because each thinks more of what he intends to say than of what others are saying, and listens no more when he himself has a chance to speak.

what annoys me just as much is when in writing people treat words beginning with 'h' as though it's a vowel - eg "an hospital"

let me tell yer matey, theys'll bleedin' need "an hospital" when i gets me mitts on 'em

A lot of it comes from the school you were taught at. Traditionally, people who said haitch were taught at a RC school, whilst those taught to say aitch were not. It may have all changed now, but that is where it came from....

Does that apply to "Zed" and "Zee" as in Zed at RC school?
