Re: Burton prediction

I have my ticket for this one. Washington will come back with something to prove. The team aiming to put the setback of MK behind them. Pick up from the highs of Cardiff. More options up front, youth and experience. Much more options defensively with most players back. Better delivery from wide posi...

Re: What has happened to Esox Lucius ?

Quite liked DaveF and EL. Although they policed and replied to every thread, sometimes excessively, it was generally well informed. Now that same policing appears to be quite aggressive and not so well informed. It’s all cyclical, someone will eventually chase away the current clown. Bit like a Davi...

Re: The ashes

Strangely proud of the team today. Very pleased to see AK score big. He was honest and delighted. Will be nice to win the test but long way to go for that..

Re: The ashes

Ah well. That dream went the way of so many other England disappointments. Sounds like our bowling attack is ageing and not as effective as Australia’s. Moeen injury does not help. Additionally, our key batsmen did not deliver. I wonder if we will see one or more retirements after this series. That ...

Re: The ashes

This is an intriguing Test. I stayed up all night watching the first day and, despite the slow pace, found it absorbing - proper old-school cricket. It was a shame we collapsed on the second day but it augers well that our three 'unknowns' scored the bulk of the runs. Cook (probably) and Root (cert...

The ashes

Trust it to be an R’s fan who rescues us. I’m thinking that was a pretty good day there. Here’s hoping Moeen can get a good knock in and we can push well over 300.

Sunderland

was thinking about giving this one a go , however, is it safe to purchase train tickets yet? I know Sunderland are one of the darlings of the Championship for Sky.

Re: Mark Hughes / Clint Hill

Why so? I think it was an enforced change. I think he said he wasn't an LB anymore - which i think most agreed with. Because he went public to disagree with the managers selection of his position and MH did not like it. Is this speculation or something that was quoted at the time? As i say, i don't...

Re: Mark Hughes / Clint Hill

If memory serves me, one match away at West Brom (I was there) Hill was left back and got well and truly roasted by the winger. Afterwards, I do recall him saying he was not a left back any more and that was one, if not THE nail in his coffin with MH Why so? I think it was an enforced change. I thi...

Re: Gigs

I have seen the Stone Roses several times now and they are fantastic live. Even though they have a limited back catalogue, the atmosphere surpasses most other gigs I have been to. Could be finished now though so I am told. This year also, Charlatans were good live. Anyone seen the Fleet Foxes, think...

Re: Washington ... 20 goals Striker

sorry - I want to stay positive but, while he puts in lots of effort, I feel that he simply isn't a Championship level striker at the moment and I saw nothing yesterday to make me think that will change - although happy to be proved wrong. At some point in the second half showed a marvellous first ...

Re: Transfer rumours

Robinson has been unable to stay injury free for long enough to give me confidence he will be a regular, perch is not a good enough full back and is in decline. I suppose I am also questioning the scouting which decided JB would be the standard required, there have been quite a few who didn't make ...
