Re: Brian Clough

Some teams were ultra defensive and had murderous defenders which makes the achievements of players like Stan all the more amazing.

LuaLua

Not picked yesterday because he was late for training on Friday according to my rag this morning. It's not too much to ask that he arises from his pit in a timely fashion is it ?

Re: Lineup / prediction v Burton

According to the commentary we are lacking something today and Burton are easily snuffing out our attacks. We are currently playing 4-2-4 High balls to two small forwards hardly made life difficult for Burton but then I'm not a great manager so maybe I missed something Ah, but mere mortals like you...

Re: Some good news on injuries

Pity there's no news on defenders - we have midfielders coming out of our ears, metaphorically. I understand Mackie and Scowen can do a turn at full back but it's the centre backs that are of course the worry. Looks like we can forget about Caulker.

Re: A memory

Yes, definitely Bardsley but it seems a position that we jusr can't seem to regularly fill. We've had better luck with left backs.

Re: A memory

The best indeed. Strange that we haven't had a really good specialist right back at the Rangers for years. Kyle Walker was of course a loan player

Re: Onuoha misses Borough game

Three months is a bitter blow. I imagine all the other injured players will be fit long before then. Our position could be worsened if Robinson doesn't maintain fitness, hopefully his problems are over. Not sure about players out of contract though, they're not going to be match fit and probably wit...

Re: Match Thread: Middlesborough v Queens Park Rangers FC

Yes, despite having difficult games to start the new season and now with considerable injuries, we are still in the top half. The key this season will be to beat the less fancied teams like Burton and ahem, Birmingham. We struggled against the lower teams last season.

To get a result with our patched up defence would be tremendous.

Re: Harry Dean Stanton

I really liked HDS. He was perfect for the misfit roles, the sometimes seedy characters. Nobody played them quite like him. A similar actor was Timothy Carey who reminded me of Harry.
