Makes you realise we were lucky to get the chance for Manning to transition to the first team this season without someone pinching him first!

At the very least if Bowler goes there should be a massive sell-on clause and a player in return.
Ross Barkley ?

Re: General Election

I have to admit the BBC really went after Mrs May today. I guess the social care policy was very contentious. Proper carehomes need to be set up with qualified, well paid staff but the cost is immense. Shes just had a tought time by Andrew Neil on BBC1 @ 7pm. A very poor interview and she was on th...

Re: General Election

LBC is still pretty Right wing. The excellent James O'brien being the only saving grace. Well theyve been slating the Tory care U turn this afternoon. I have to admit the BBC really went after Mrs May today. I guess the social care policy was very contentious. Proper carehomes need to be set up wit...

Re: Millwall

Joking apart, I do like to hear it sung. More by a choir or rugger fans than Cardiff I concede.

Which poll is that, 222gers? sorry, I posted this in the pub after misreading a headline. 10/10 for honesty and humility. There but for the grace of God go all of us. Thanks Don, I'll have a couple of pints of Waddies in the Kings at Putney this lunchtime by way of penitence !

Re: Premier League Table

So 6 points turns out to be the difference between Southampton in 8th & Watford in 17th. Leagues within leagues, mediocrity the goal / outcome for most teams. The promised land in terms of money, for sure, but... Yes, the 7 richest clubs occupying the first 7 places. The only unknown is the exact o...

Re: General Election

George Gale was real enough. He always sounded like he'd had 6 pints of ESB or half a bottle of whisky when on air. I believe he was the inspiration for Private Eye's archetypal drunken journalist Lunchtime O'Booze.

Re: General Election

I don't know if LBC has changed, but years ago I used to listen to it at work and it was just a right wing propaganda station. They used to have an old buffer called George Gale ( known to Private Eye as George G. Ale because he was often apparently drunk on air).

Re: General Election

Another example of bias. The media has yet to question the mysterious "means testing" of the Winter Fuel Allowance. The media should be saying "you are going to limit this payment to those on pension credit, because means testing 12m pensioners would be too unwieldy and expensive, is that not true ?...

Re: General Election

There is no doubt whatsoever regarding media bias. Take for example the post war election that brought a Labour landslide and far reaching changes like nationalisation and the creation of the NHS. The press, like now, were biased against Labour, but the public were more savvy then and well aware of ...
